The Sigma Chi Fraternity exists in a society that is constantly in motion. In order that Sigma Chi's mission, vision and values remain relevant, it is critical for members to be prepared to face changing climates.
Sigma Chi is meeting this need through the implementation of the Journey chapter improvement program, which houses six workshops aimed at improving our brothers, our chapters and our Fraternity. Journey is meant to be hosted locally at the chapter by province-based facilitators who are trained on each of the six workshops.
The six Journey workshops are Strategic Visioning (making a strategic plan), Sexual Misconduct Prevention (learning the changing landscape of sexual misconduct legislation), Responsibility and Accountability (holding brothers accountable for their actions), Risk Intervention (high-risk awareness), Strengthening Brotherhood (building strong brotherly bonds) and Chapter Revolution (changing chapter culture). A future Journey, The Jordan Initiative, will focus on hazing prevention and will be available during the 2014 to 2015 school year.
Journey aligns with Sigma Chi’s mission to prepare values-based leaders committed to the betterment of character, campus and community. Journey also embodies Sigma Chi’s core values of friendship, justice and learning by weaving accountability and feedback across the curriculum.
